Take this opportunity to have a tour of British Art Show 8 with two of the curators central to bringing this important (5-yearly) contemporary art event to Norwich for the first time. We will start with a walk through the exhibition spaces at the Castle with Harriet Loffler, Curator of Contemporary Art, Norfolk Museum Service, who will show us some of her favourite works and tell us about the challenge of reworking the British Art Show for Norwich.
At 3pm we will make our way by foot to Norwich University for the Arts’ newly opened Ideas Factory where we will stop for afternoon tea. Once refreshed, Dr Caroline Fisher, Gallery Manager, NUA will take us down to the NUA East Gallery and begin a tour of her of British Art Show 8 highlights. Caroline will then take us across to the St Georges Street building and guide us through the studio spaces given over to the exhibition.
With the enormous range of contemporary practice included in the British Art Show, this event promises to provide an insight into a selection of those works our curators feel are not to be missed! We will be moving between galleries and venues on foot, but will provide some seating wherever possible.
Tickets at £15, include exhibition tours and afternoon tea. This event is for EAAF Members. To book a place please contact the office 01603 493668 or email info@eastangliaartfund.org.uk
