We are thrilled to be able to arrange another visit to the wonderful Anish Kapoor at Houghton Hall.
If you have not already been to see the exhibition, it is absolutely magnificent! The grounds and Hall feel very safe, with controlled visitor numbers, plenty of hand sanitiser dispensers and room for us all to keep our distance. Amanda Geitner, Director EAAF
Anish Kapoor is one of the most influential sculptors working today, known for creating ambitious public sculptures, adventurous in both form and engineering across vastly different scales and materials.
The exhibition features some of Kapoor’s major works in mirror and stone, including Sky Mirror 2018 - a five metre diameter mirror of stainless steel that reflects and transforms the space around it, turning the world upside down - and a series of carved marble sculptures, created between 2001 and 2003, which are displayed across the grounds. A few key works are shown inside the house, in the Stone Hall, and these are accessed from the main external staircase.
“Anish Kapoor is a magician.” Lord Cholmondeley, Houghton Hall
Our event will begin with a walking tour of the exhibition and conclude with afternoon tea and drinks in the Old Kitchen.
Tickets are £40 per person. Event is hosted by Amanda Geitner.
You may wish to arrive early to enjoy the walled gardens and visit Contemporary and County in the Stables.
