Join us for this visit to wonderful exhibitions in two exceptional Norfolk houses! EAAF member Caroline Fisher has curated the exhibition The Garden Comes Inside, in response to the historic garden of Bolwick Hall. The garden was designed by Humphry Repton and features cultivated and wilder areas of planting, a lake, the site of an old mill, marshland and woodland.

There are three major themes of the show: plants, animals and the land with ceramic work by: Hiroko Aono-Billson, Sarah Horlock, Aliyah Hussain, Helena Lacy, Tamlin Lundberg, Stephen Parry, Katherine Pleydell-Bouverie, Matthew Richardson, Katie Spragg, Nessie Stonebridge, Emily Stapleton Jefferis, Alice Walton, Lucy Whitford, and painting, print, textiles and photography by Vija Celmins, Lizzie Kimbley, Yayoi Kusama, Alida Kuzemczak-Sayer, Chloe Mandy and Kiki Smith.

Caroline will give us a talk and tour of the exhibition, giving insight to the artists she has worked with to make The Garden Comes Inside.

We then have a short drive to Wolterton Hall to see exhibitions of the work of Phyllida Barlow and Daisy Parris.

Phyllida Barlow: disruptor, curated by Simon Oldfield with Guest Curator Clare Lilley, unfolds across three rooms at Wolterton and into the landscape beyond, bringing together more than 70 works spanning over five decades of the artist’s career, from works on paper to large-scale sculptural installations. Daisy Parris, Fist Full of Dreams, is curated by Simon Oldfield with Guest Curator Gemma Rolls-Bentley. Bringing together a new body of paintings made in response to the house and landscape alongside the artist’s first large-scale textile installation, the exhibition establishes a dialogue with Phyllida Barlow’s sculptural interventions elsewhere in the building.

Tickets are £28 per person and include talks, a light lunch and refreshments. Your host for the day is Amanda Geitner.
