Join Professor Sandy Heslop and Amanda Geitner for a wonderful day of art and architecture in the Glaven Valley.
The 20th anniversary Cley Contemporary exhibition takes its name from old tales that tell that the space under the bridge at Wiveton was locally known as 'nowhere'. We begin our day at St Mary's Wiveton with a tour by Sandy of this wonderful 15th century church, a building which testifies to the prosperity of Wiveton at the time when it was an international trading port.
We proceed across the valley to St Margaret's in Cley, where Sandy will again talk to us about this magnificent church. Amanda will give a tour of her exhibition nowhere, which features 50 contemporary artists from the region.
We will lunch at St Margaret's with a picnic provided by Picnic Fayre of Cley, and then move on to St Nicholas' Church Blakeney. There Sandy will guide us through the last of our three marvellous 'Ships of the North'. If restrictions allow, we may be able to climb the 137 steps of the West Tower to see incredible views over the Blakeney and the Glaven Valley!
Tickets are £30 per person.
Your host for the day is Amanda Geitner.
