Independent Spaces in Norwich

This walking tour will take you to some of the most vibrant independent art spaces in Norwich! The day gives us a wonderful opportunity to see new exhibitions, galleries and artists' studios and to hear from artists and curators about their plans for their work and spaces.

We start our day at Caroline Fisher Projects in Upper St Giles. There we will look at the work of Holly Stevenson and Lydia Hardwick in Caroline's lovely gallery and hear from Caroline about her ambitions for her programme of exhibitions and events. We then move around the corner to Josey - a new gallery run by artist Benjamin Brett. We visit on the opening day of an exhibition of work by Sam Jeffery. Both Ben and Sam will be on hand to talk to us about the gallery and their work.

Onwards, to OUTPOST Gallery and a welcome from the chair of the OUTPOST Steering Committee, Jade Jamean Lees, with other committee members who are programming the artist-led space through its 16th year. Then a short walk across the bridge to Anteros for lunch and a warm welcome from Felicity Hemmant, who will tell us what plans she currently has for Anteros Arts Foundation.

After lunch, we move to Anglia Square and to an introduction and tour of OUTPOST Studios led by the Studio Administrator, who will be joined by artist Anna Townley. We will be able to meet a number of artists in their studios before the close of the day at 4.30pm.

Space is limited in some of the galleries and studios, so we will be a small group! We will be on our feet for much of the day and walking across the City - so please dress for the weather outside and wear comfortable shoes. Some of the galleries are accessed by stairs.

Tickets are £30 per person and include refreshments on arrival and lunch.

12.00pm	Move on to Josey on Willow Lane
1.00pm	Arrive at Outpost Gallery, 10b Wensum Street
1.30pm	Buffet Lunch at The Merchant's House, Anteros Arts Foundation, 11-15 Fye Bridge Street
2.30pm	Gallery viewing, Anteros
3.00pm	Arrive at Outpost Studios, Anglia Square
4.30pm	Close
