This walking tour will take you to see new work on show in some of the most vibrant independent art spaces in Norwich. The afternoon gives us a wonderful opportunity to see current exhibitions and galleries and to hear from artists and curators about their plans for their work and spaces.
We start our tour at the Norwich School Crypt in the Cathedral Close. Caroline Fisher Projects is presenting a solo exhibition of the ceramic work of Connor Coulston - Thoughts from a Sleepless Night - as part of the Norfolk and Norwich Festival. We then cross the street to OUTPOST Gallery to see work by Hattie Porter, with a welcome from Kirstin Leigh, Chair of the OUTPOST Steering Committee, which is programming the artist-led space through its 18th year.
Onwards! To Willow Lane and Josey, a gallery run by artist Benjamin Brett and Jonathan P Watts. There we will see the work of Hilary Lloyd in the exhibition Dog bEar Scarf. Ben and Jonathan will be on hand to talk to us about the gallery and their programme.
Next, across the street to visit Holkham House, recently acquired by Debbie Carslaw and artist Nessie Stonebridge and currently under renovation. Lastly, a short walk up the hill to Caroline Fisher's gallery on Upper St Giles, to close the day with tea and coffee and buns from Breadsource.
Space is limited in some of the galleries, so we will be a small group. We will be on our feet for all the afternoon and walking across the City - so please dress for the weather outside and wear comfortable shoes. Some of the galleries are accessed by stairs.
Tickets are £20 per person and include refreshments.
Event hosted by Amanda Geitner.
