In late 2022, Gainsborough's House reopened to the public following a major redevelopment which has positioned this marvellous museum as a national centre for the study of 18th Century art and the British Landscape tradition. The project involved the renovation and redisplay of the historic house and the opening of a new, landmark three-storey building with spaces for exhibitions, displays and learning.
This event is a fabulous opportunity to explore the new Gainsborough's House with a guided tour and see the two exhibitions on show: Gainsborough and Legacy of Landscape: Masterpieces from Woburn Abbey and Striking Editions: Lithographs from 1970 to 2000.
Our day with start with tea and coffee on arrival, followed by a tour and then a sandwich lunch in the café.
After lunch, you may wish to stay and enjoy the house and gardens, or wander over to the Mill Shop of Stephen Walters & Sons who have woven silks in Sudbury since 1720.
Tickets are £40 per person and include refreshments, tour and lunch. We will be making our own way to Sudbury - please let us know if you need a lift or can offer one. Event hosted by Amanda Geitner.
