Tickets

Come with us for a summer afternoon in King's Lynn to see two exceptional exhibitions and meet with artists and curators.

At the Fermoy Gallery, Curator Lizzie Fisher will welcome us to her exhibition Destroy, and you create: Gustav Metzger in King's Lynn, featuring rarely seen early drawings and paintings by Metzger. It is little known that this internationally renowned artist lived and worked in King's Lynn between 1950 and 1959. Lizzie will introduce us to his work and tell us more about the impact of this time in King's Lynn on the artist's development.

At Groundwork Gallery, we will meet with Director Veronica Sekules for a preview of her summer exhibition Fragile Nature: From Control to Freedom. Each of the selected artists manipulates natural materials in marvellous ways: Paca Sanchez makes formal arrangements of leaves, seeds, flowers, stems, twigs, Lotte Scott creates free forms from smoke, soil and lime, Elspeth Owen’s thinnest egg-shell-like ceramics in painterly shades of blue-green-violet-grey reflect and create their own subtle and radical environment and Emma Howell experiments with sensitive washes of thin colour to create almost abstract images of landscapes and plants.

Tickets are £15 per person. To buy a ticket, follow the link above or contact the EAAF office 01603 493 668.
