Join us for an exhibition tour with artist James Dodds to look at his work in the current exhibition Wood'n Boats, New Work by James Dodds and Roger Hardy at the Yare Gallery, Great Yarmouth.
James Dodds was born in the east coast fishing town of Brightlingsea, and trained as a shipwright in Maldon. He then studied painting at Chelsea College of art and the Royal College of Art, London. He is also a printmaker and has conceived, illustrated and hand-produced a series of artists books. A 2021 monograph by Ian Collins, The Blue Boat, charts James' 20 years of painting boats and will be available at the exhibition.
The Yare Gallery is a perfect location for James' magnificent paintings featuring local boats - shown in a port and with the light flooding in from the quayside windows. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet the artist and hear him talk about his work.
Tickets are £15 per person and include tea and coffee. Event hosted by Amanda Geitner.
